Plan
LogiX can be used in conjunction with Auto LogiX, the
powerful automatic vehicle scheduling software, to further automate
the vehicle routing process.
Auto LogiX is the automatic solution to your
vehicle scheduling problems. The software automatically calculates
optimum routes based on order volume, distribution and operator
preferences, giving the user more time to manage the fleet.
Auto LogiX can be used in a tactical mode; to allow optimal
use of current resources, or in a strategic mode; calculation
of the optimum resources required or optimum depot location.

Auto LogiX is capable of handling large amounts of data and has
no limitations in size of order structure. But more importantly: Auto LogiX
is capable of controlled optimisation. Normally at operational
level, but not at strategic level, there are a lot of 'non-optimal'
limitations which don't fit into an 'optimised' scenario.
Auto LogiX is capable of handling those limitations and 'make
the best of the situation'. This striking difference
is unique to DPS. Of course the system allows the user
to create 'theoretically' perfect scenarios and identifies
bottlenecks and limitations, but the user-controlled optimisation
makes it possible to implement an optimisation at operational and
tactical level.
Auto LogiX works in two modes: terminal based and
tramping. When the system is terminal based it can handle
collections and deliveries in one planning. However, all collections
are assumed to be delivered at the terminal, and all collections
are assumed to be collected at the terminal. In tramping mode (optional)
all orders becomes two-part orders: one collection order
and one delivery order a 'pair'. Then the system
is available to do planning with connection to production or
follow very exact depot limitations.
Site LogiX is a special optimisation module, a strategic
tool for optimum site location taking into account location of supply
and demand points, including both inbound and outbound transport
requirements. The optimisation of locations is based on the current
order structure.
Bespoke optimisation models are available in the LogiX
family of planning systems. Two examples of this are:
The tanker version handles compartments in vehicles and
product mix restrictions.
An animal transport version is available that handles health
regulations and washes for vehicles.
More characteristics about LogiX are available on the Plan
LogiX page.
